ifFIP
FIP counting infield popups as strikeouts, scaled to runs allowed per 9 innings.
Shown for: pitcher.
Formula
(13 × home runs + 3 × (walks + hit by pitch) − 2 × (strikeouts + infield popups)) / innings + the season’s constant.
Our own model
Not checked against Savant. A season is written only when every check on the aWAR page passes.
Notes
Walks include intentional walks, as in FanGraphs’ FIP. The constant makes the league’s ifFIP equal its runs allowed per 9 innings.
Era caveats
aWAR begins in 2016
Savant’s fielding leaderboard begins in 2016, so 2015 has no aWAR and no part of it.
